Blooming Beauty

Cheesy title? I know. Now lets move on. This is another one...wait? I've already said that these flowers are from my mom's garden? Ok cool.

Spot The Redhead

Apologies to people with red hair everywhere - I do not mean to offend you.

I'm merely referring to this beautiful lizard.

Deadly Look

I tried to think of a good pun but came up empty.

This creature looks scary to some but I think it's pretty. Also it was dead when I found it.

Looking Out

This particular sparrow seems to love our house and keeps coming into my room.

Peeping OGL

OGL? What's that you ask? Well that stands for Oriental Garden Lizard.
Their numbers are fast depleting in this area and so I try and take their pictures whenever I can.

Elegance

This is another flower from the garden. It's really beautiful now.

Tendrils

Ok. Those aren't really tendrils. This is just another extreme macro shot of a flower.

I don't really remember which flower this was but it was beautiful. The macro world sure is beautiful.

Radiant Beauty

My mom just got a few new flower for the garden and they look amazing. This is one of the tiniest but it's just beautiful.

Under The Beautiful Sky

There are so many pictures I haven't processed so far. This is one I recently processed.

This was a really stunning sunset. One of best we had last year.

The Deeper Beauty

I know the term is "inner beauty" but really this was just going deep into the flower so I decided to change it.

I'm guessing this is the female part of the flower - again I can't be sure because I was never good at remembering these things.

Busy Bee

I recently visited a friend and he has one of the most beautiful gardens I've ever seen. There are just so many varieties of flowers there and I just couldn't help but take pictures of them.

Fortunately this bee was enjoying the flowers as much as I was albeit in a different way than me.

A Moment In The Sun

I'd gone out to shoot some lizards and couldn't find any but I saw this tiny little butterfly fluttering about and then it just tried to find a spot in the sun to stop for a moment.

It seemed to prefer sunny spots to ones in the shade.

Matching Colours

Flowers are really good. Photographing them is a challenge because it's very easy to go the easy way and photograph every flower the same way.

It's rather difficult to come up with new ways to photograph it so in this one I tried to show how the colours go together.

The First Shot

If you've been following my blog you'll know that I recently got a very BIG gift. It may not be massive in size but it means a lot to me. I got a Canon EOS 650D (T4i for those in the US) as a gift.

You'll also know that I absolutely love photographing Oriental Garden Lizards. I think they're pretty cool. So, I had to wait a while before I saw a lizard and this was the first shot of a lizard I was able to get using this camera.

Simplicity

Nature is can be so simple at times but yet be really beautiful.

Simple and common things can unexpectedly bring a smile on our faces. It's just amazing. I was just testing out the depth of field on my 55-250mm lens and I ended up really liking this shot of this small twig with leaves.

Pretty Bunch

I found these flowers in a garden that was full of pretty flowers. These really stood out because there was just this one plant with these flowers. It seemed out of place because there were multiple plants of all the other types. This one was quite beautiful. It seemed soft and fluffy. Unfortunately I couldn't touch it because there was a massive sign that said we shouldn't touch the flowers.

Limitations

So often we are bogged down by things happening around us and limitations are put on what we can and cannot do. Sometimes these are for our own good but there are times when we have to break free of these obstacles and shackles.

Unnoticed

I've been shooting a lot of extreme macro shots and it's been great. I does get frustrating at times but it's all worth it at the end when you get a good picture.

This picture took me at least ten tries. My hands are really unsteady and that just makes it worse.

Time For Rains

The one thing I miss about the rains are the sunsets. Those are just unbeatable.

People usually water the grounds to keep them moist because we don't get rains this time of the year and it reminded me this picture. This was probably the last time it rained last year.

Glorious Sunset

After a rather dusty and noisy ride we reached our destination by public transport.

This sunset really lifted my spirits. There were 10 others with me but sadly no one else seemed to notice it.

Being Different

Sometimes it's good to be different from everyone else around you. I say sometimes because that's not always true.

Anyway the picture is why we are here so lets talk about that. There is a small patch in our backyard where we have a few mustard plants. Almost all the plants here have yellow flower except this little plant that has white flowers.

Trying To Hide

Watching this lizard reminded me of playing hide-and-seek when I was little. I could never stop laughing and so was one of the first ones caught.

This lizard just couldn't stay still. If it hadn't moved I would never have noticed it but it just started running as soon as it saw me when I was more than 20 feet away. Now I'm glad that it did move because it gave me a really unique shot.

Out In The Sun

Sunday was a sunny day and so there were a lot of birds and lizards out enjoying the sun.

This particular Myna seemed uncooperative at first but then it didn't mind me getting close and taking loads of shots.

It's a beautiful bird no doubt but it's overlooked as there are so many of them.

Hidden In Plain Sight

I'm really enjoying using the 650D. It's an amazing camera. Definitely a BIG step up from the SX50 HS that I was using.

Obviously the SX50 has a massive zoom that cannot be beaten by this camera but I've been able to do so much more with the new one.

I had a lot of fun shooting Oriental Garden Lizards this week. There seemed to be quite a few which is a good sign.

Through The Plantation

I was cycling past this tea plantation when I noticed this particular path. There didn't seem to be very many paths through the tea trees (yes, they're called tea trees) which was odd and this seemed to be the only one.

I just had to stop and take a picture of the scene just as the clouds were forming.

Gratitude

I have so much to be thankful for today so I thought I'd go with a flower. God has been infinitely merciful and gracious.

I just got my results today and they were good. The weird grading system gave me a brief scare but it turned out to be a good thing. Plus I never expected this because I missed so many classes due to sickness.
