Castles In The Sky

Usually when you take a flight to Delhi you get an amazing view of the world's tallest peak, Mount Everest and the amazing Himalayas. Unfortunately for me it was cloudy and so we couldn't see anything but I did see some pretty cool cloud formations.

This was one of them. I took this just as we began our descent towards Delhi. It was like a castle (or a mountain, if you will) in the sky.

Last Light

It didn't look like the sunset would be spectacular but then again that's how quite a few of my posts in the past year have started so you know where this is going.

The clouds looks spectacular so I thought I'd go up to the roof and watch them and see if I could get a few good photographs.
Just before it got dark this particular part of the sky burst with colour. It was just amazing! The colour seemed to make one final peek before it went dark.

Evening Splendor

We had gone out for a gospel meeting today and this is what we saw on our way back home.
Wow! I mean WOW!

Overlooked

How often we tend to overlook or even ignore the little things in life that actually matter. I think these flowers represent that very well. They're tiny, maybe not more than a centimetre or two in diameter and yet they're so beautiful. It also goes to show how beautiful and wonderful God's creation is even at a macro level.

These flowers grow all along the hillside on the way to Mussoorie which is a hill station in India. Most people don't notice them and some ignore it and fail to see the beauty in them. When I was taking pictures of these flower someone actually asked me why I was wasting time photographing these flowers!

Also notice the tiny insect on the flower in focus. I really wished I had my DIY flash adapter so I could take a few extreme macro shots. Unfortunately I couldn't figure out how to take it with me without damaging it and thus rendering it useless.

Ravishing

Rainbows always fascinate me and I know that holds true for most, if not all people. They're just super beautiful and always brighten up your day.

I noticed the clouds looked absolutely stunning today and so I decided to go up to the roof and watch them while the sun set behind me. It was beautiful. I did have my camera and so took a few pictures from time to time.

However, I did not expect to get this picture. These colours didn't last for more than a few seconds but it just added to the beauty and grandeur of the evening sky and remind me of Genesis 9:13 which says "I set My bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a sign of a covenant between Me and the earth."

To The Fading Light

I couldn't get a proper shot of today's amazing and glorious sunset but I was more than satisfied with what I did get on my iPhone.
No one else seemed to notice the sight right in front of them - the beautiful colours that were slowly changing and the clouds that kept moving and shifting shapes and sizes. It was beautiful but not one person cared to look at it twice or just stand and watch beauty unfold before them.

Cold Meat

So this was the first proper dish of the first meal I had in Delhi and it was delicious.

That is probably one of the highlights from the trip - it was delicious and looked really good too.

Morning Glow

It looked like it would be a mundane sunrise when we left while it was still dark but that's probably because I wasn't really thinking about the sunrise. I was thinking about visiting the Taj Mahal for the very first time.

The sunrise was epic! Nothing short of it. We stopped on the way to the rest the car and that's when I got this shot which I'm really happy with.

The red brick road, the blue in the sky and the yellow glow from the sun that's hidden by the clouds just made it a perfect scene. I did want to stay and watch the sunrise for a while but we were in a bit of a rush to get to Agra early and so couldn't stop unless absolutely necessary.

FRI

No - FRI doesn't stand for Friday but refers to the Forest Research Institute in Dehradun, India. It's one of the best place I've been to and so I'm really happy that this panorama I shot of the front of this building turned out to be one of my absolute favourites from this trip.

This is a really old building with some good scientists and doctors working here - they study plants and all things related to them

I was told that there is no concrete in this building - not on iota. It's a massive building and perfectly symmetrical right down to the lawns and the flowers you find there.

Go Germany

With the semi-final in a few hours I though I'd share this image I made while on vacation before the team I'm supporting gets knocked out of competition. Now I'm not saying that they will loose, all I'm saying is that I'd rather post this while they're still in rather then after they're out.

This was shot in Manual Mode - as most (if not all) multiplicity photographs should be.

Go Germany!
May the best team win!

Freedom

Here is another one of my favourites from my recent trip to Dehradun. This was taken at a place called Dhanolti.

There's an Eco Park that is just really beautiful. Although the weather wasn't very good the day we went and there was dense fog it was gorgeous especially because of the fog. The sky cleared for about two minutes when I took this shot.

God's creation just cannot be beaten.

For the record, this is not the shot I was trying to take when I got injured.

Today is the last day of my summer vacation and I have to get back to college tomorrow which I am not looking forward to. That's why this post was titled freedom - the last day of it :D

Talking To The Beast

Recently I went to visit family in Delhi and so we went to visit the Taj Mahal in Agra. I'd never been there before but have always wanted to visit.

They've built a new highway that connects Delhi to Agra and the journey only takes about three hours by road. That has also got to the one of the best roads I've been on in India.

The sunrise was stunning and we stopped on the way to rest the car for a while. That's when I got this photograph of my brother and his car.
Btw thank you Vijay for the amazing time I had there.

Also for those of you who don't follow my page on Facebook here is a bonus picture for today. Two nights back we had one of the clearest and most stunning night skies in this place - I honestly can't remember the last time we had such a beautiful and clear night sky. It was so clear that you could actually see the Milky Way. It was faint but it was visible. So here is my first Milky Way picture. Also if you want you can follow my Facebook page - Daniel Raghu Photography.

After The Storm

Many of you've been asking me why I haven't uploaded anything in the past couple of weeks. I've been on vacation and then I fell sick. I'm feeling a whole lot better now by God's grace and so over the next few days I intend to get back to uploading regularly.
So I thought I'd start with today's sunset. This was shot on an iPhone 3GS and was edited in Snapseed.
