Along The Road

Might not be able to post everyday. It's vacation time! Delhi is great!

Flourish

We visited Darjeeling recently and stopped at a place which had some pretty flowers. Most of the flowers were drying up but there were some really pretty ones like these.

In Between

In our garden we have a plant with some amazing yellow-red flowers. The ants love them and you'll never see one of these flowers without ants on it. It's just beautiful and really amazing.

They start off all bunched together and as they blossom they move farther apart and stay that way.

Some say the flower resembles a parrot's beak.

This ant seemed content with staying here. It was perfectly still while all the other ants were moving about and having a nice time. Maybe it was just tired.

The Rising Clouds

Today was a fun yet tiring day. Got to go to Darjeeling with two new friends and although we didn't get to see much of anything it was fun.

This is probably the best view we had all day.

Tiny Beauty

This particular flower is probably less than a centimetre long - they're really tiny which makes photographing them a challenge.

I used the reverse-lens technique for this one and it is focus stacked - there is no other way you're going to a better DOF.

Together

First shot at photographing the reproductive parts of the Hibiscus flower. I have to admit that I find the macro world really fascinating. The closer you go the better it gets.

Just goes to prove that God's creation is indeed marvellous!

Almost Dry

Looks like the monsoons are early this year. We've been having rains for a few days straight with little or no direct sunlight. I personally prefer the sunlight to the rain but I just can't complain when we get a stunning sunset because of the clouds.

This particular insect didn't seem to mind the rain and it most certainly didn't mind the water on it. Fortunately it was pretty still so I could get two shots before it flew off.

Why two shots? Well two shots with different parts of the insect in focus can be used for focus stacking.
